Profile: 

The channel showcases the best of the BBC’s award-winning factual entertainment programmes. The first and exclusive home of Top Gear, BBC Knowledge also premiered BAFTA award-winning series Ross Kemp on Gangs and Last Man Standing. The channel is the only factual channel with a business strand, with shows such as The Apprentice (U.K.) and Dragon’s Den.

Televison: 

BBC Entertainment is on pan-regional Asian feeds across all territories. All channels in Asia are 24 hours. In Indonesia, BBC Knowledge and CBeebies are dubbed into Bahasa Indonesia. In Korea, a three-hour branded BBC Knowledge block runs every weekday at prime time on YTN’s Science TV, and is subtitled. In Taiwan, Singapore and Hong Kong, BBC Knowledge is subtitled in Chinese.

BBC Knowledge showcases the best of the BBC’s award-winning factual and documentary programmes. BBC Knowledge is the home of Top Gear, which premieres first and exclusively on the channel. In the first half of 2010, the top programmes for the channel were: Top Gear (series 13), The Apprentice (U.K.), Ross Kemp: Return to Afghanistan; and Last Chance To See (hosted by Stephen Fry). Highlights for the second half of 2010 include Undercover Boss, Top Gear (series 14), Who Do You Think You Are U.K. (featuring David Tennant, Jeremy Irons, Kim Cattrall, Sarah Jessica Parker, Susan Sarandon and Lisa Kudrow among others); Louis Theroux’s specials – Killadelphia as well as Law and Disorder in Johannesburg.

Local Production: 

BBC Worldwide Channels is constantly looking for co-production opportunities, particularly for BBC Knowledge and BBC Lifestyle, for programmes that fit the channel in terms of genre, tone and quality.

Affiliate marketing: 

BBC Worldwide Channels sends out programming information to affiliates every month, and constantly works with affiliates to identify and create joint promotion activities.
