Launched on 1 January 2004, Animax is Asia’s first channel brand specialising in Japanese animation – anime. The channel created TV history in April 2009 as the world’s first regional broadcaster to offer a same-time-as-Japan simulcast with Tears to Tiara. Animax’s first multimedia, multiplatform original animation LaMB won Taiwan’s Golden Bell Award as Best Animation Programme, and was an Asian Television Awards finalist in the Best Animation category in 2009.
